| The "Ridvadet" is an old courier way by Ottsjoe.
It was used already in the time of 1675 - 1717 of the
Karolinern as connection between Eda Skans in Vaermland
and Duved Skans in Jaemtland. Also the post office came
over this way. The "Ridvadet" has average width
of 60 cm in the summer.
"Bufoeringsleden" (the way, on which the
cows were driven to the summer pastures in Fjaell):
A daily at the differently one Persson its herd to the
Bottenvallen led, its horses by a bear was resulted,
when they grazed on the pasture. The horses saved themselves
in the village, the whole time with the bear behind
itself to home. And on a distance of approx.. 10 km.
This history occurred into the early 1900-er years.
Groefta, Blytein and Tranbacksrein are well-known burial
places from old times. They are not marked until today
as such, but the knowledge about their situation is
still present, although they were used before several
hundred years.
Hållfjaellets tourist station was built 1942-43
and opened in February 1943. It lies above the timber
line on 800m. during the war it by the Swedish Air Force
was used. Female air observers lived there and reported
on hostile airplanes. Today the station is operated
of Martion Sjoeberg as conference and tourist cafe.
In the winter it is special a popular goal for tourists.
And a good coffee expects one at any time!
